Celebrating Black Public Service Leadership

The UNC School of Government’s Master of Public Administration program invites interested audiences to attend a special topics webinar celebrating Black public service leadership.  A group of esteemed panelists will be discussing the importance of choosing a career in public service, the inspiration behind their work, and their motivations and efforts to increase inclusion and ensure equity in public administration.  
Public service leaders are at the forefront of issues facing communities, and panelists will encompass professional backgrounds in community and economic development, local government, federal government, and social services/nonprofit administration.  
The webinar will take place Tuesday, March 23rd at 6pm EST.  Registration is required.   
This panel is open to the public, and anyone interested in public service as a career and/or those who are already working in public service are invited to attend.
Panelists will include:
  • Faculty member Jonathan Morgan - Albert and Gladys Coates Distinguished Term Professor of Public Administration and Government
  • Monica Allen - Director of Strategic Planning and Evaluation for Mecklenburg County, MPA Adjunct Faculty
  • Darren Allison - Program Analyst (Policy), U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, UNC MPA Alumni
  • Adrienne Woods – Executive Director, Safe Passages Inc., Current UNC MPA Student
